Highlights

  • Saying goodbye to Ambassador Mohamed Sahnoun
  • Bringing our approach to Geneva International
  • Looking back to the Caux Forum 2018

Dear Friends,

As autumn slowly settles in, we are delighted to update you about our work and our activities for the rest of this year.

The former President of IofC International and founder of the Caux Forum for Human Security, Ambassador Mohamed Sahnoun, passed away on 20 September 2018 at the age of 87, leaving behind a great legacy for Initiatives of Change and the world’s peace-building community. Cornelio Sommaruga, Honorary President of Initiatives of Change International, writes about his old friend Mohamed. Rainer Gude and John Bond, both from IofC, describe not only Mohamed's footprint in international diplomacy but his inspiring human values.

We were proud partners in this year's edition of the Geneva Peace Talks, an annual event at the UN headquarters in Geneva to mark International Peace Day, hosted by the Geneva Peace Building Platform, Interpeace and the United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG). Our Strategic Partnerships Manager, Rainer Gude, was a co-moderator, giving the audience the opportunity to experience one of IofC's main tools: silent reflection. Watch the Geneva Peace Talks full video here.

More than 1,300 individuals from over 80 countries took part in the 2018 Caux Forum. Its six main events this year highlighted innovation and resilience in business and society, our role in achieving the Global Goals, restorative justice as a framework for advancing justice and peace, land restoration as an effective means of conflict resolution, tools for changemakers, and child protection mechanisms. Revisit the highlights of an enriching summer!

We thank you for your continued support and would be grateful if you could share information about our activities in Switzerland with your networks. We look forward to seeing you soon at one of our events. Wishing you a lovely autumn,

The IofC Switzerland Staff

This two-day course offers ICA’s perspective on change in an organizational context, introducing a series of tools and frameworks which enable people to take a more holistic view and ensure that the ‘human factor’ is included. The tools help practitioners to understand, analyze and respond to changing dynamics both outside and within an organization, as well as to consider how to support individuals through the change process.
